3 Benefits of Sunflower🌻 Oil as a Moisturiser

You won’t believe this, but I bought the first bottle of sunflower oil based on a tweet that said something about oil lifting boobs. I’m not gonna lie, I had barely B-Cup boobs pre-pregnancy, and during breastfeeding found myself busting out of a D-Cup. Now I am back to a barely B-Cup after breastfeeding for thirteen months. If you’re a mom, you know exactly what I’m saying. These titties are striped and stretched, okay! But I bought the wrong one, turns out the oil I was supposed to get was actually Pumpkin Seed Oil! Poor me.

Now I’ve gone back down the habit hole and hear it helps with the stretch marks? If you think I’m not going to try this, you are crazy!

Calm down, Shan. The people came to talk about the Sunflower Oil.

Right. Okay. Back to that.

So! Anyway, after buying the oil I realized I don’t have the discipline to stand around massaging my tits for five minutes daily (which I’m gonna try again). I did, however notice the oil was a lighter one and wondered how it would fare as an overnight moisturizer on my dry skin. Very few moisturisers help me, and though I’ve found one that work absolutely beautifully with the sunflower oil on my skin, we’ll talk about that another time.

After using an entire bottle, let me tell you, sunflower oil is everythang! So I researched the benefits of this particular golden oil, and here’s what I found.

It’s great for your pores

Sunflower oil is a carrier oil which is highly absorbent, and won’t clog your pores. It’s non-irritating for most people, and can be used on all types of skin, including dry, normal, oily, and acne-prone.

I have combination; (oily and dry) skin. Unfortunately this means most moisturisers aren’t very helpful. When my skin is more oily than dry, my pores become significantly larger. I’ve definitely noticed that using the old post moisturiser before bed, it reduces the appearance of my pores and I wake up with a healthy, golden glow.

Anti-Inflammatory

It also has anti-inflammatory properties. This means that it’s it beneficial for dry skin and for conditions, such as eczema as well as acne. After the way my skin kicked up in recent years, this is especially welcoming to hear.

Anti-Aging Properties

Sunflower oil is rich in vitamin E, which helps neutralise the formation of free radicals caused by environmental factors such as UV radiation and pollution. These free radicals can damage healthy skin cells and deplete collagen levels, leading to the formation of fine lines and sunken skin. The sunflower oil can also prevent dark spots formation and other signs of aging.

How I Use It

  1. I first cleanse with my Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser.
  2. Pat Dry.
  3. Use either Balancing Force™ Oil Control Toner or Glow2OH™ Dark Spot Toner.
  4. Moisturize with Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator.
  5. Apply a dot of Sunflower Oil.

So there you have it ladies, my thoughts on Sunflower Oil. Up next, I’m definitely trying that boob thing with the Pumpkin Seed Oil.
