From the time my husband and I started dating, his professional path was something that I took honest consideration about, among other things. Not to be a brat, but as someone who was a student nurse myself once upon a time, I was intimately familiar with the curriculum, it’s demands and assumed (correctly) that students who study medicine had little time for much else.(more…)
You won’t believe this, but I bought the first bottle of sunflower oil based on a tweet that said something about oil lifting boobs. I’m not gonna lie, I had barely B-Cup boobs pre-pregnancy, and during breastfeeding found myself busting out of a D-Cup. Now I am back to a barely B-Cup after breastfeeding for thirteen months. If you’re a mom, you know exactly what I’m saying. These titties are striped and stretched, okay! But I bought the wrong one, turns out the oil I was supposed to get was actually Pumpkin Seed Oil! Poor me.(more…)
My Greatest Fear is a Life Un-lived.
Who told you you’re going to get 50, 70 or 90 years of life? If you knew you would die at 40, would you approach your life the same way? If you knew you have a disability at 30 or 40 years old, what would you do differently? You see, it’s my belief that far too many of us approach life like it is a destination rather than a journey.(more…)
Blogging is not a sprint. It’s a marathon.
I read that somewhere this week, and it might have been the kick I needed to jump start my engine. See, since this quarantine thing started, I’ve opened a blank page to write a blog post a couple of dozen times, but always end up closing the page several hours later just as blank as it was when I opened it.(more…)
More tab a year ago, I tried to get my podcast But First, Coffee going. Failing miserably, I finally conceded that there was no way I could diligently find the time to record a podcast with the noise bug that is my full time charge. But writing? You bet your cutet little bitton nose I can!
So, transforming the concept from podcast to newsletter, bfc morning e-newsletter delivered via email Monday to Friday, will feature five to seven articles on lifestyle, food, creatives, business tips and events around the cities of Kingston, Jamaica and Fort Lauderdale/South Florida, US.

Hey, guysss! It’s Q4 already. The final quarter or 2019. I hate to say it, but I’ve found myself in a dry patch where blog posts are concerned. I am at a loss with topics and though I try not to ‘post just to post’, that’s exactly what I’m doing right now and I have no idea where this post is going. I wanted to connect with you guys on a conversational level. Just to see how everyone is getting on.(more…)
Hey guys! I thought I’d do something a little bit different with this blog and share household items and products I’ve been loving and using for some time now. I’d been on a YouTube dry spell for while and as I catch up the other day, I realized I am really into house decor and all that. I also have a growing excitement when I go to the store and spot really cute, chic household pieces that are for decorating. (Old age, is that you?)(more…)
One beautiful Sunday morning, I felt the need to get out of the house. After a few minutes, we settled for going to Cane River, St. Andrew, a hidden gem with a waterfall. We drove through St. Andrew rather than St. Thomas, and may have gotten a little bit lost before getting there. After a few twists and turns, we got there; realizing upon arrival that we had ventured there over a year ago, but wasn’t able to enjoy it then because there had been a downpour and the proprietor’s advised against braving the water. So, second time’s the charm.(more…)
Last night, for the longest time in ‘I don’t know how long’ I spent about three hours on Skype with two girlfriends. We talked. A lot. About many, many things including social media and perception. As the conversation grew wings and took on varying subject matters, I listened to how they felt about perception, online identity and what people thought about them when the conversation turned to social media and being who you ‘post’ to be.(more…)
I posted a video on my Instagram teasing about a possible pregnancy some weeks ago. After a flurry of messages in my inbox, I came clean. I wasn’t (am not) pregnant at all. I’m under some duress from baby fever, but no, not pregnant.
Then ladies wanted to know why I looked like I was. My belly was still larger than a food baby. At one point during the day, my sister almost freaked out at how fast My abdomen was distending.(more…)
