8 Stay at Home Valentine’s Day Ideas

Looking for Valentine’s Day ideas for 2021? The international lovebirds day is looking a little different than we are used to in 2021. Aside from the fact that there is a global health crisis, we’ve all been careened into spending more time at home. For most of us, it will have been nearly a year. A lot of couples found that extra time with their spouse was not good for their relationship, but if you got past that hump, then you’ll be wanting to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a safe way, which still conveys your affections. And the safest place to celebrate is at home.

My husband and I typically do Valentine’s Day pretty low-key. It is also my anniversary and I know first hand what a pain it can be to find something reasonably priced or to get a reservation. Everything is spiked, and although I’ve already set bout what to do for that weekend, there are a few other low-key indoor things that I also plan to do that you can do, too.

1. Romantic Picnic

Whether you’re doing it on your living room floor or in your yard, a picnic might be just the ticket. It can be for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner or a snack. It’s one of those dates that can be as dressed down or formal as your want. Pillows and blankets can join the mix too if you want extra comfort.

2. Breakfast in Bed

Who doesn’t love getting breakfast in bed? This may not be Valentine’s Day specific, but I love it when my husband brings me breakfast on a regular old day and would love it on Valentine’s Day just the same. You can make it creative by cutting out heart-shaped food and fruits. And if the kids are around, they can be included in the endeavour.

3. Cook Dinner Together

Making dinner is another good way to make use of indoor time together. Try a new recipe you’ve been wanting to try, have some wine, put on some music and make it sexy.

4. Wine + Movie Night

Like an old classic, a wine and movie night is a nice laid-back way to spend the evening. You can include the kids if they are around, or watch your movie after they’ve gone to bed.

5. Play Sexy Games

There are you few spins you can put on some adult games. You can use sex dice, take shots, download an app and follow the instructions. You can even make up your own. It’s your night.

6. Take a Long, Candle Lit Bath Together

Easy peasy. All you need is a bathtub, some bubble baths, some rose petals, scented candles and a bottle of wine. You can do this after the kids have gone to bed, and enjoy the serenity of each other’s company. It’s a nice wind down to the evening; and if you want to get a little frisky with sexy time during or after… more power to you!

7. Catch up on a Series Together

Netflix and Chill? Netflix without the ‘Chill‘? Either way, a good Netflix series is a good way to spend the day low-key. Netflix shows have short seasons, so it’s not hard to find something new to watch together. Might I suggest ‘Bridgerton’? Or ‘Anne with an E’? ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ is good too.

8. Give each Other Massages

Some towels, candles, and some music are a good way to set the mood. Choose a nice body oil or lotion and a good rub down is a good way to spend some intimate contact time with your boo. When you are finished giving each other massages, you can wash the grease off together in the shower. This is definitely something my old back would appreciate.

What about you guys? What are your Valentine’s Day plans for 2021?
