Jamaican bloggers are a bit hard to uncover these days. When I say bloggers, I don’t mean content creators. If you’re wondering what the difference is, it’s in the content type. You see, all bloggers are content creators but not all content creators are bloggers. This means that content creators with actual blogs (which are regularly updated) are far fewer amid the growth and popularity of platforms like Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok that favour audio and visual content.
But for those of us who still truly enjoy a well-written word, bloggers and in particular, active Jamaican Bloggers are more difficult to find. So I thought I would share some of my favourites with you in honour of Jamaica’s Emancipation Day (August 1) and Independence Day, (August 6) as well as our stellar performances in this year’s Tokyo Olympic Games where Jamaica swept the track for 1st, 2nd and 3rd medals in the Women’s 100m races and Gold in the 4×1 relay among others.

2 years agoThanks for the feature Shandean!!!You’re so right about the consistent blogging circle. It is quite limited. When I think of bloggers I have a few more names I could add to the list but they haven’t posted in a while. But I’m glad I’ve connected with every boss lady blogger from this list. You’re all such an amazing inspiration.

2 years agoJust now finding this! Thanks for the feature Shandean 🤗 you’re quite right about consistent Jamaican bloggers being few and far between, as most Jamaican content creators don’t blog. 😥 Long live our tiny community, and I hope to see more consistent quality local bloggers someday soon.
