DoubleTree by Hilton, Toronto Review

My husband and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Toronto (Chestnut St.) for a few days in November. I’d been looking for a hotel in Downtown, Toronto that I feel safe (and clean) staying at. I landed on DoubleTree.

The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from Pearson International Airport. If you book this hotel beware you’ll pass by another DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. Note that both hotels have the exact same name. The Chestnut Avenue one, however, is the one that is Downtown and the one this review is about.

Check In

Check-In was a breeze. We paid for our room, provided proof of vaccination and were on our way to the room within five minutes of arrival.

The Room

The room is a standard hotel room with a bed, side tables, desk, TV, coffee machine. Phone and closet.

Food

The hotel has one restaurant that serves three basic options for breakfast daily between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. and up to 11 a.m. on weekends. Nothing to write home about. We ate there twice, once was to avoid the snow outside.

They also have a bistro and bar located inside the restaurant. The surrounding area of the hotel provides many options though. We had breakfast at Denny’s most mornings during our stay. It is about a seven to 10-minute walk including crossing waits. There’s also a cluster of options at the food court at Eaton Center.

To dine in the restaurant or anywhere in Toronto, you are required to provide proof of vaccination and identification as is mandated by the Canadian Federal government.

The Service at Double Tree by Hilton, Downton Toronto

Overoverall, the service was good. I have no complaints. The staff were courteous, pleasant and did their best to ensure guests are comfortable. Housekeeping was done every other day.

Location

The hotel is pretty central. It’s in the middle of Downtown, Toronto. There are shopping and eating amenities within walking distance or a short ride in every direction. It’s a few minutes’ walk from CF Toronto Eaton Centre.

Have you ever stayed at a Doubletree by Hilton? Which one? How was your expernece? Let me know in the comments.
